Born January 18, 1969, Rocky Mount, Virginia - American actor.
When Martin was in elementary school, the family moved to Buffalo, New York, however this got Jesse into trouble. Martin hated to speak due to his strong southern accent and he often had to overcome shyness. A concerned teacher advised the boy to enroll in an evening theater group and took him to the role of pastor in the play The Golden Goose. From Virginia, young Martin played his character in the only way he knew: the pastor was an inspired Southern Baptist preacher. The play became a hit, and Martin was liberated.
Martin attended The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, where he was voted "Most Talented" in his senior year. He later enrolled in the theater program at New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, while also being the wildly popular president of New York University's dormitory, Ruby Hall, a famous building at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Tenth Street, where when Mark Twain lived. He was responsible for dozens of performances there and was kind and considerate with nearly a thousand residents.
