Born January 5, 1967 - American actor.
At the age of six, he and his parents move to a ranch near Reno, Nevada. His parents, John and Nancy Flanigan, still live there. Until the age of fourteen, he studied at a boarding school in Ojai (California). Here Joe played Stanley Kowalski in the school production of Tennessee Williams' Streetcar Desire. While studying at the University of Colorado, he received a degree in history, and on an exchange program traveled to Paris for a year.
After graduating from college, Flenegan managed to try many professions - from banking to politics. But I didn’t feel comfortable anywhere. After being fired from Interview magazine, he became unemployed and moved to New York. His neighbor, an actor, convinced Joe to try his hand at the field. He studied acting at the New York County Theater. At first he worked in the radio. In 1994, he first appeared in the NBC miniseries Daniela Steele's Family Album. Flenegan has been featured in selected episodes of Murphy Brown, Birds of Prey, Fair Amy, CSI: Miami, and several episodes in Cupid, Dawson's Creek, Providence and Assassin's Profile. .
He starred in the TV series Stargate Atlantis, where he played Major (later promoted to Lieutenant Colonel) John Sheppard. Joe wrote the script for Episode 212 of The Baptism of this series.
