Born August 1, 1978, Windsor, England - British musician, son of George Harrison. Dhani Harrison debuted as a professional musician.
Dhani graduated from Badgemore Elementary School in Henley-on-Thames, then continued his studies at the private high school Dolphin School in Twyford and Shiplake College. After graduating from college, Harrison entered Brown University, where he studied physics and industrial design. After graduating from university, Dhani began a professional career in aerodynamics. However, he soon became disillusioned with his choice of activity, and, deciding to follow in the footsteps of his father, began a career as a musician. Following the death of George Harrison on November 29, 2001, Dhani, in collaboration with Jeff Lynn, completed George's posthumous album Brainwashed, which went on sale in 2002. On November 29, 2002, Dhani took part in the "Concert for George" organized by Eric Clapton in memory of George Harrison. Many friends of the legendary Beatle took part in the concert, timed to coincide with the first anniversary of George's death: Billy Preston, Ravi Shankar, Jeff Lynn, Tom Petty, Ringo Starr, Jim Keltner, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Albert Lee, Joe Brown, as well as members British comic group Monty Python. In April 2006, Dhani announced the formation of his own group - a musical duo called thenewno2. In the same year, the ensemble published their first music video "Choose What You're Watching" on their website. Thenewno2 has Dhani as guitarist and vocalist, while fellow band member Oliver Hex plays synthesizer and drums. In 2007, Dhani participated in the recording of the album of the California band Rooney Calling the World. In the same year he took part in the recording of the new version of the song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" called "The Heart Gently Weeps". It became the debut single from the New York hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan's album 8 Diagrams, released in December 2007. Thenewno2's debut album You Are Here went on sale online on August 11, 2008 and in stores on March 31, 2009. The song "Crazy Tuesday" was available for download as a bonus track for the music video game "Rock Band 2" .
In April 2009, George Harrison was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in front of Capitol Records. The official ceremony took place on April 14th. In addition to Dhani and his mother Olivia, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn, Paul McCartney, Eric Idle, Tom Hanks and other stars took part in the ceremony. Olivia Harrison gave a short speech about her husband. When it came to Dhani's turn, he did not speak, but simply said "Hare Krishna" into the microphone. In February 2010, Dhani, along with Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur, formed a new group, Fistful of Mercy. The band's debut album As I Call You Down was released on October 5, 2010.
