At birth, she received the full name Rose Eleanor Arbuthnot-Leslie. Grew up in the 15th century Licklehead family castle in Aberdeenshire, being the third of five children of Sebastian Arbuthnot-Leslie and Candida Mary Leslie.
She is the great-granddaughter of Simon Fraser, 13th Lord Lovat, 2nd Baron Lovat. Comes from the ancient Scottish clan Leslie, which gave the world many military, political and state leaders, including in Russia. The Leslie family also owns the 12th century Worthill family castle in County Aberdeen.
She attended elementary school in the Rhine, then studied at the private school "Milfield" (Somerset). In 2005-2008, she studied at a three-year acting course at the prestigious London Theater Academy, after which she received a bachelor of arts diploma.
