Jenny Agatter - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Actress.
Born December 20, 1952 - British actress.
The daughter of an army officer, she spent almost all her childhood on the road with her family, constantly changing her place of residence: Germany, Cyprus, Singapore, Malaysia. At the age of eleven she entered the Elmhurst Ballet School in Camberley (Surrey). The following year, she made her film debut in East Sudan (1964, directed by Nathan Juran), after which she had the opportunity to showcase her dancing talents in the drama Ballerina (1965, directed by Norman Campbell), starring Danish prima ballerina Kirsten Simon. This was followed by a number of films, including the family drama based on the novel by Edith Nesbit "Children of the Railroad" (1970), dir. Lionel Jeffries), where Jenny played the eldest daughter in the family of an unjustly convicted man (she was previously engaged in this role in the 1967 television version). This picture made the young actress famous and soon it became almost impossible for her to combine classes at the theater school with constant filming. One of the most interesting films of the time with her participation was The Walk (1971) directed by Nicholas Rogue - an experimental drama in which the clash of two cultures of the Australian continent - the urban culture of white people and the original one belonging to the Aborigines - was shown in a poetic manner. The role of a teenage girl, lost in the vastness of Australia with her younger brother, became a transitional one in the career of an actress, who then moved on to more adult roles. in which in a poetic manner the clash of two cultures of the Australian continent was shown - the urban culture of the white people and the original one belonging to the aborigines. She reached her peak of popularity in the second half of the seventies, starring without a bra with Michael York in the science fiction film Logan's Flight (1976, directed by Michael Anderson), with Donald Sutherland and Michael Caine in the military thriller The Eagle Has Landed (1976, directed by John Sturges), with Richard Chamberlain in the historical adventure The Man in the Iron Mask (1977, directed by Michael Newell), as well as in the psychological thriller Equus (1977, directed by Sidney Lumet) based on the play by Peter Schaffer with the participation of Richard Burton and many other stars British cinema. For her role as Jill Mason in Equus, she received a British Academy of Film and Television Award. Her acting successes also include the role of nurse Alex in John Landis's horror film American Werewolf in London (1981), which was very popular. Subsequently, she was known mainly for television series, including the popular spy drama Ghosts (2000). She also played in the series Pretty Women (1995) and Bramwell (1998). In 2000, she starred in the third adaptation of Railroad Children in her career (directed by Catherine Morshed), this time as the mother of the family.
