Jenny Downham is a single mother with two sons.
For many years Jenny has played with the Tellers Theater in London, performing for challenging London teens.
So she worked for seven years and left the makeshift theater in 1999.
Deciding that it was difficult to travel with two children on tour, she had to leave the stage and start writing.
One of her books, While I'm Alive, was written in the first person and was nominated for several literary awards and won the Branford Boase Award in 2008.
Jenny Downham's second novel, You Against Me, was published in 2010.
In 2012, the movie “Now is the time” was made based on the novel “While I'm Alive”.
