Wentworth Miller - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Actor, Writer, Producer.

Born June 2, 1972, Chipping Norton, England, UK - American actor and screenwriter.

Wentworth's father is an African American lawyer with Jamaican, Somali, German-Jewish, Indian (Cherokee) and British roots, and his mother, a school teacher, is Russian, French, Syrian, Dutch and Lebanese.

Miller's father attended Oxford at the time of his son's birth. His family moved to Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York.

Miller's small acting debut took place in kindergarten. Children and parents had to make their own dinosaur costumes for the stage. Miller's father, bypassing all the ready-made models, made a huge T-Rex head out of paper. The audience was delighted.

Miller attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn. When his girlfriend found out about its origin, the boy had called "Nigeria" and told him to "get out of the plantation." At school, due to social inequality and racist antics, Miller was nicknamed "Stinky" and haunted him for many years.

Before entering the prestigious Princeton University, his parents advised his son to hang photographs of his family in the room so that the guests who came to him would immediately understand his origin, and he would avoid unnecessary explanations.

During his college years, he studied singing and also traveled the world performing with the famous a cappella band "The Princeton" Tigertones. A bad reputation caused him a lot of difficulties during his first year at Princeton.

Immediately after defending his thesis, in which Miller compared the structure of two famous novels - "Jane Eyre" and "Antoinette", he unexpectedly for his parents and friends moved to Los Angeles to become an actor.

Early in his career, Miller worked in the development department of a production company at Paramount, not on screen, but on the other side of it. There was not enough money even to rent an apartment, but Miller was not going to refuse to realize himself as an actor.

Four years, hundreds of castings and no offers. And yet, in the end, as a guest actor, he participated in the filming of the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Time of Your Life", "Ambulance" and "The Best", until he finally got the first worthwhile role of a sensitive young David Scott in the TV series Dinotopia. Simultaneously with participation in the series, the divorce proceedings of his parents began in the Miller family. Miller expected a lot from Dinotopia. The series received an Emmy award, but Miller did not break into the ranks of stellar performers, and therefore again launched into numerous auditions.

In 2002, the actor's resume was on the desk of the legendary Robert Benton - one of the co-creators of Bonnie and Clyde and the director of Kramer vs. Kramer - and Miller got a role in the drama Tainted Reputation.

Benton drew attention to Miller for a reason. Tainted Reputation is a screen version of Philip Roth's scandalous novel about respected university professor Coleman Silke. It's not hard to see that, given his background and university education, Went suited the role of a young professor like no other. Miller has revealed himself as a serious dramatic actor.

In 2005, Miller's photos appeared in popular publications including L'uomo Vogue, Abercrombie & Fitch: new revamped xmas edition. He was invited to appear on the series "Ghost Whisperer" and "The New Joan of Arc". And then he became Michael Scofield in the TV drama Getaway. The role earned Miller a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

In 2009, Miller voiced several characters in the popular animated series Family Guy.

Under the pseudonym Ted Falk, Miller wrote a screenplay titled Stoker, as well as a prequel to it called Uncle Charlie. In 2010, Stoker was ranked 5th on the Blacklist - the top 10 scripts that Hollywood studios had yet to “reach”.
