Born October 8, 1959, Buffalo, New York is an American writer, actor, voiceover, comedian, and sportscaster.

Buckeye was the screenwriter for Sabrina, the Little Witch. He voiced the cat Salem and the beaver Norbert in The Tough Beavers; was the artist of the animated series about Sabrina.

Buckeye is also an active sports writer and commentator. He writes weekly articles for NFL.com in the column "Nick Bakay's Manly House of Football" and occasionally writes for ESPN.com and ESPN magazine. He comes to ESPN Sports Center on Wednesday and Thursday mornings during the NHL season, and has appeared frequently on NFL Total Access on the NFL Network. Buckeye has also guest-starred on many episodes of "Up Close" and "Talk2" and has also appeared on Jim Rome Is Burning and several other sports shows.

Early in his career, he wrote the storyline for the Evil Clown comic, which appeared in the National Humor Magazine. From 1993-1994 he wrote the comedy sketches In Living Color and appeared as Stu Dunfy as the host of the fantastic game show The Dirty Dozens. He has worked for Comedy Central and has written and appeared on numerous shows including Night After Night with Allan Havey and Sports Monster.

Since 2000, Buckeye has produced the acclaimed CBS sitcom King of Queens, which he also wrote and played in several episodes. He wrote the comedy film Paul Blart: Mall Cop alongside King Among Queens star Kevin James in 2009

In 2006, Buckeye created, wrote and voiced the Comedy Central cartoon, The Adventures of Baxter and McGuire, which was recently nominated for an Emmy in the Best Comedy Video category.

Bakai is currently a producer and participant in the comedy Happily Ever After.

In 2011, he wrote the script for the film "Keeper of the Zoo".
