Born April 17, 1957, Maidenhead, England, UK - British writer and producer.
When he was 11 years old, his parents divorced, and in order to somehow get over it, Hornby became interested in football and became a fan of London football club Arsenal. In his autobiographical book Football Fever, he tells about his lifelong feeling as a fan.
After graduating from Maidenhead Grammar School, Hornby studied English Literature at Cambridge University, after which he taught English there, including to international students. In 1983, he began his career as a writer and journalist.
In his works, he often touches on the topic of contemporary popular culture; the heroes of his works are often young people leading an aimless lifestyle. Some of his works (Football Fever, Hi-Fi, My Boy) were filmed.
