Born September 11, 1970 is an American actress and singer.
Henson rose to fame for her supporting roles in The Kid (2001), Hustle & Move (2005) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), for the latter of which she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress.
Henson's greatest success has come from her role as Cooke Lyon, a main character in Fox's primetime soap opera Empire, where she has been filming since 2015. The role earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series - Drama in 2016 and an Emmy nomination in 2015 .. Henson also starred on a regular basis in police procedures for the Women's Brigade (Lifetime, 2002-04 ) and Into Sight (CBS, 2011-13), and was nominated for an Emmy for her lead role in Lifetime's Kidnapped Son: The Story of Tiffany Rubin in 2011. On the big screen, Henson has also starred in the films My Own Mistakes (2009), Think Like a Man (2012), No Good Deeds (2014) and Hidden Figures (2016).
