Born July 12, 1988 is an American actress and rapper best known for her role as Porsche Taylor in the Fox primetime soap opera Empire .
Jones worked as a nurse in a nursing home before landing a role in the series. When producers were looking for local female rappers, Jones initially auditioned for the role of Tiana, which eventually went to Seraya McNeill. After, however, she received an offer to audition for the role of Portia, assistant to Cook Lyon (Taraji P. Henson). With no acting experience, Jones was cast a few days later. The character of the character was meant to be just a background, but after Jones debuted in the second episode of the first season, the producers decided to expand her role. The role earned her praise in the press, where she was dubbed "The Scene Thief," and Jones herself was parodied on Saturday Night Live.
