Born May 15, 1932, Sunbury-on-Thames, UK - English film director and editor.

John Glen began his film career as a messenger in 1945. By the late 1940s, he was working in the visual and sound editorial departments of Shepperton Studios, working on films for director Alexander Cord (eg The Third Man (1949). In cinema, Glen made his film debut in 1961 as an image editor on a documentary series called Chemistry For Six Forms, he made his directorial debut in the television series Man in a Suitcase in 1968.

During the 1960s and 1970s, John worked as a film editor and assistant director, working on films such as Superman (1978) and Wild Geese (1978); he also works on three James Bond films: On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and The Moon Rider (1979).

After the James Bond films, Glen continued to make films. He has directed films such as Christopher Columbus: The Conquest of America (1992) and The Faceless (2001). He also directed episodes of the science fiction television series Space Precinct (1994-95). In 2001 he published his memoirs.

Guren's films contain repetitive motifs in the form of a frightening dove; this is especially evident in his five James Bond films.

Glen often uses the same actors in his films. In his autobiography, he states that he wanted to direct Timothy Dalton in Christopher Columbus: The Conquest of America, but Dalton left the project before John took on him; after filming License to Kill, Dalton made it clear to Glen that he no longer wanted to work with him. Several other actors from Glen's directed Bond films appear in Christopher Columbus: The Conquest of America; among them are Robert Davi, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Gotthard and Nigel Terry.
