Born December 31, 1969, North Carolina, USA is an American screenwriter, director, and producer.
His childhood was spent in continuous moving from city to city. By the time he entered the University of Maryland, College park, Duan Adler had changed 18 schools.
With his scripts for Save The Last Dance and Step Up, Adler is uniquely placed as the author of two of the highest grossing dance films and the highest grossing teen melodrama in Hollywood history. In parallel with writing the scripts, Duan Adler directed his 2006 debut, God's Waiting List, at the prestigious American Black Film Festival in Miami.
