After graduating from university in Tennessee, he tried many professions: sailor, insurer, salesman, slaughterhouse worker.
His film debut took place in 1931, but the most famous of his career was the role of Jack Driscoll in the film King Kong (1933) .
During World War II, Bruce Cabot served in the US military intelligence.
After the war he returned to Hollywood, worked not only in films, but also on television. His most recent work was in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever (1971) .
He was married three times and divorced three times.
Died of lung and throat cancer.
