She writes under the name Meggin Cabot and under the pseudonyms Patricia Cabot and Jenny Carroll.
In 1991, after graduating from Indiana University and earning her BA in Fine Arts, she moved to New York with the intention of pursuing a career as an illustrator and worked for a time as a book designer. However, she soon changed her job as an assistant manager of a freshman dorm at New York University, which gave her the opportunity to devote more free time to writing her own books. Her first novel Where Roses Grow Wild was published in 1998 under the pseudonym Patricia Cabot.
Meg Cabot has over 50 published books with over 15 million copies published worldwide.
