October 29, 1891 - May 29, 1951 - American comedian, singer, theater and film actress, and entertainer. She was the creator and star of the most successful US radio series, The Baby Snooks Show. 17 years after her death, a musical about her life called "Funny Girl" was staged on Broadway, and in the 1968 film of the same name she was played by Barbra Streisand.
