Fritz first appeared on screen at the age of 16 in the small role of a hotel page in the successful film Golem and the Dancer. At home, he starred in five films, and between 1921 and 1928 he emigrated to the United States, where he successfully continued his career as an actor, shortening his last name from Felschenfeld to Feld.
Feld played chess very well: several times he held "tournaments" at home with chess champions Herman Steiner and George Koltanovsky, which could go on until six in the morning.
