Born October 22, 1954, Casablanca, Morocco - journalist and French bestselling author.

Catherine Pankol was transported from Casablanca to France when she was five years old. She studied literature and worked as a teacher of French and Latin before switching to journalism. She subsequently worked for Paris Match and Cosmopolitan magazines, where one of the publishers persuaded her to write fiction. Following the success of her first novel, Moi d'abord (1979), Pancol moved to New York, where she spent the next ten years teaching writing and writing classes at Columbia University.

Pankol is renowned for her understanding of human psychology, especially female psychology, and her sensitivity to detail, often hidden behind her controversial humor. One of her goals is to inspire women to be themselves by building a positive relationship with life itself.

Les Yeux jaunes des crocodiles / Les Yeux jaunes des crocodiles (2006) was a huge success in France, where it sold over a million copies and was awarded the Prix de Maison de la Presse 2006 as the best-selling book in France. Katrin Pankol was nominated for the 2007 Best Author of the Gorodets Publishing House (Moscow). "Yellow-eyed Crocodiles" is the sixth best-selling book in France in 2008 (Le Figaro litteraire).

In 2014, the film of the same name "Yellow-eyed crocodiles" was shot based on the book.
