Born September 10, 1969, Madrid - Spanish writer, journalist, screenwriter, actor and director.
Studied Journalism at Complutense University and in 1992 completed a screenwriting course at the American Film Academy. Even before traveling to the United States, he was recognized as a songwriter, journalist for El Pais and El Mundo, and screenwriter for the TV programs Sopa de gansos and Querido Rafael. In 1996 he made his debut as a filmmaker for The Good Life.
In 2004, the documentary Balseros, on which Trueba worked as a screenwriter and co-producer, received an Oscar nomination. David Trueba's "Soldiers of Salamis" (Salamis) was nominated by Spain as an Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Film.
