October 18, 1927 - September 22, 1999 - American actor, director and producer, winner of the "Oscar" and one of two actors who refused this award (the second - Marlon Brando). Scott was very popular for his stage roles and film success, being remembered for his work in the films "Rogue", "Doctor Strangelove, or How I Stood My Fear and Love the Bomb" and "Patton" .
He was also known for his non-public character and a peculiar attitude to film awards: for example, Scott refused even an Oscar nomination in 1962 for his role as a villain-manager in the drama "Swindler", and nine years later, he won an Oscar for creating the main character General Patton in the biopic of the same name, returned it to the academics.
