January 13, 1931 - December 24, 1984 - English actor.
Ian's acting career began in 1955 with small roles on television and in films. In 1960, he got his first leading role - Dr. Jeffrey Brent in the crime series Surgeon Police. The 13-episode series did not go well, but Hendry was spotted and cast in a similar role as Dr. David Keel in a new adventure series called The Avengers. Initially, Hendry was the star of the series, and his partner Patrick McNee as John Steed was his co-star. However, production of the first season was discontinued due to a strike in the studio and Hendry took the opportunity to leave the series and embark on a film career. Patrick McNee took his place and became the star of the series.
