His film career began with the TV series Crime Scene in the early 70s. Later, Tobias starred in fifty more films. In 1991, he landed the lead role in The Polar Bear King. He can also be seen in the TV series "Commissioner Rex", where he starred with such actors as Veronica Logan, Volker Bruch, Kaspar Capparoni and others.
