Moretti is his mother's maiden name. The mother was Italian. Since childhood, he has been seriously involved in music. Studied composition at the Vienna University of Music and Drama. Graduated from the Otto Falkenberg Acting School in Munich. After graduation - an actor in theaters in Bavaria. Since 1986 he has been an actor at the Munich Kammerspiel Theater. He worked in Italy with the world famous theater director Giorgio Strehler (it was at this time that he took a stage name - his mother's surname - Moretti).
I did not immediately discover my acting vocation. The owner of outstanding musical abilities studied composer at the Vienna Conservatory of Music, in 1980 he entered the Falkenberg Drama School in Munich, where he was quickly noticed by the Residenz Theater and the Kammerspiel Theater.
In Russia and around the world, he is known for his role as Police Inspector Richard Moser in the TV series Commissioner Rex.
Tobias Moretti plays piano, organ, guitar, clarinet and percussion. He is also fond of rock climbing, skiing and luge sports, canoeing and auto racing, an avid motorcyclist. In 1997 he received a diploma in agronomist. Also, Tobias Moretti is not deprived of culinary talents - he gained fame as the author of unique recipes.
Lives in Innsbruck on his own farm. Continues to act in films. Acted as a theater director - staged the opera Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the theaters of Bregenz and Zurich.
Since 1997 he has been engaged in farming and has a livestock farm near Innsbruck, Austria. He is married and has three children.
