Jonas Kaufman was born in 1969. At first, he planned to follow in his father's footsteps and become a teacher. But soon he decided to change his profile and, leaving the University of Munich, moved to the conservatory, from which he graduated in 1994. The career growth of the promising young professional was going quite well. Having performed his first small roles in Munich and Salzburg, he did not go unnoticed and over the next ten years performed at Covent Garden, La Scala, the Vienna Opera, and was a member of the Zurich and Stuttgart opera troupes.
