On-screen Jason Lee first appeared in a short episode in the drama "My Crazy Life" (1993), followed by an invitation to a more serious role in Kevin Smith's film "Lobotryas" (1995).

However, the actor became really famous after participating in Smith's next film - "Chasing Amy", where Ben Affleck himself became his partner on the site. The brilliantly played role led to the fact that Jason Lee took part in almost all of Kevin Smith's films. The most commercially successful of these are the comedies Dogma (1999) and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001).

In 2001, Jason Lee landed a role in Cameron Crowe's Vanilla Sky, in which he played a friend of the protagonist. Filming surrounded by such stars as Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz was not in vain - after this film, he was offered major roles.

A light comedy with an unpretentious plot was well received by both viewers and film critics. Moreover, the latter, among other things, noted the good acting of the actors.
