Jackie Weaver, real name Jacqueline Ruth, is an Australian television and film actress who has been nominated twice for Best Actress in a Supporting Actress Academy Award. She was born in the Australian city of Sydney on 25.05. 1947 in the family of an immigrant from Northern England, lawyer Arthur Weaver. Jackie attended Hornsby Girls' High School, received a scholarship to study sociology at university, but chose to pursue an acting career.
Jackie began her film career in 1966, when she got her first small role in the Australian television series Wanjina. In the 70s he starred in Australian films, television productions and performances. In 1971 she won the Australian Film Institute's Best Actress Award in Stork, and in 1976 she won the Best Supporting Actress Award in the melodramatic film Caddy. Also, Weaver receives an Australian Emmy for his performance in the 1976 television movie Should I Kill My Child?
