In 1998, Spice 1 released the Greatest Hits album. Not many rappers can release an album like this without the support of TV and radio broadcasts. Now let's go back to the days of gangsta rap for a bit. The NWA was promoting the gangsta rap movement in Los Angeles, more specifically Compton, the Geto Boys were promoting it in the south, but the East Coast influence still remained in the Gulf of California. Spice 1 was one of the first rappers to come from the Gulf of California.
In 1991 he released his first album of the same name "Spice 1". It was the right material at the right time, and NWA was as popular as ever at the time. As Spice 1 himself said: "NWA and Too Short influenced me a lot." The songs "Welcome To The Ghetto" and "In My Neighborhood" are the best compositions from this album.
In 1993 his second album, entitled "187 He Wrote", was released, which raised him to the level of a famous MC and went platinum. This album was not a one-hit album, every song on it was a hit. The undisputed best tracks from this album are: "Trigga Gots No Heart" (this track was also included in the "Menace II Society" soundtrack compilation) and "The Murda Show" recorded with MC Eiht.
