Studied at the Humboldt University in Berlin. His participation in theater workshops sparked Ronald's interest in acting, and Zerfeld began his studies at the Ernst Busch School of Dramatic Art in Berlin.
First appeared on television in the film "Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder" (2003). He made his big-screen debut in The Red Cockatoo (2006).
