February 7, 1927, Odessa, USSR (Ukraine) - May 27, 1990, Moscow, USSR (Russia) - Soviet director and artist of animated films, screenwriter.

Since 1942 he was a cartoonist student at the Soyuzmultfilm studio.

Worked at the Yerevan studio (1943-1947).

In 1947 he became an animator at the Soyuzmultfilm studio.

Was a part of the combined shooting group under the direction of Nikolai Fedorov.

In 1960 he created the cartoon film magazine Cartoon Crocodile and directed the first issue of what became his directorial debut. At first he worked with Vladimir Popov. Their tandem lasted almost 15 years. Over the years, in addition to numerous stories for collections, "Wicks" and custom films-posters about corn and "Gosstrakh", they have put several pictures that still do not leave TV screens. Among them are "For the first time in the arena" (1961), a dilogy about the bear Umka (1969-1970), "Bring Rex back" (1975). Further, each of the directors went their own way.

In 1976 he made the cartoon "Postage Fish" on his own.

He often taught at courses for animation artists at the studios "Soyuzmultfilm", "Multtelefilm" and also lectured at the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors.
