In 1936 he graduated from school and entered the Shchepkin Theater School, which he graduated in 1940. Then he worked for a year at the Pushkin Theater in the city of Ashgabat.
With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he went to the front. For two years he fought in the army. After being wounded, he led the ensemble of the road troops of the Volkhov Front. After demobilization, he worked in theaters: Front Theater at the Central House of Arts, the Maly Theater, the Literary Theater of the WTO, the Romen Theater, the Gogol Theater, on the stages of which he played several dozen leading roles.
Has also staged performances in folk theaters, houses of culture and clubs. He wrote scripts and directed folk shows at the stadiums of the Moscow region.
