"2016: End of the Night" Thomas Wobke's first experience as a film producer, after he ended a long-term collaboration with his colleagues Jakob Klaussen and Ueli Putz. Thomas was so impressed by Tim Felbaum's short films that he decided to work on End of the Night with the young director from the beginning. To finance and produce the project, Webke joined forces with producer Gabriel Walter of the Caligari Studios. Roland Emmerich, a mutual acquaintance and longtime friend of theirs, received an invitation as executive producer.
The creative tandem of Klaussen and Webke made their mark with such debut works as After Five in the Jungle, directed by Hans-Christian Schmidt and Beyond Silence, by Caroline Link (both films were released in 1996). They were followed by other works directed by Schmidt: "23" with August Diehl (1999), the adaptation of the novel "The Madman" (2000) with Robert Stadlober and Tom Schilling, "High Beam" (2003). In addition to these works, Webke's track record includes film productions such as Anatomy 1 and 2, Play Louder (2002) and Summer Storm (2004) directed by Marko Kreutzpaintner.
The last collaboration of Thomas Webke with the production center Klaussen-Webke-Putz Productions, which they organized jointly in 1992, was the screening of the classic children's novel by Otfried Preussler “Krabat. The Sorcerer's Apprentice ”, which was released in 2008, starring David Cross and Daniel Bruhl.
