Born on December 6, 1941, Joelahtme region, Estonia, USSR. Estonian and Soviet theater and film actor, theater director. In 1965 he graduated from the theatrical studio of the Vanemuine Theater in Tartu. In 1966-1970. - worked on Estonian television. 1970-1983 - Actor and director of the Vanemuine Theater in Tartu. In 1983-1996. - Director of the Estonian Drama Theater. 1999-2000 - Artistic Director of the Estonian Youth Puppet Theater. Died tragically on May 16, 2000 in Tallinn, Estonia.
