Jan Mayorovich was born in Moscow in the summer of 1947. The surname Arlazorov went to the artist from his mother, who was a surgeon by profession. My father was a lawyer, but during the war he served in a medical battalion.
After graduating from the Shchukin School in 1969, he began performing at the children's theater in Moscow. Since 1974 he moved to the Mossovet Theater. And since 1989, he began a solo career as a pop artist.
Films with Yan Arlazorov are periodically released. In the Soviet action film Chronicle of the Night, Yang appears as the hippie anarchist Pippi. A couple of years later, the film-play Evening Light was released, where Arlazorov appeared in a cameo role as a restaurant visitor. In the role of Perkins, he plays in another theatrical production Trial of the Judges about the trial in Nuremberg over the Nazis. And after a couple of years he could be seen in the film-play Quote. The artist took part in the scoring of the musical animated short film Bang Bang, oh-oh-oh. He also played in a remake of the famous Ryazanov Carnival Night, released in 1996. And in 2006 he appeared in an episode of the comedy series Funny Neighbors.
But most of all he was remembered and loved by the people as an artist of the comedy genre. The roles of Yan Arlazorov on stage were not limited to reading monologues, albeit incredibly funny. Having a great sense of humor, a penchant for improvisation and quick reaction, he proved himself as an "artist of the people", conducting a dialogue with the audience, drawing them into his performances. Arlazorov's stage monologues were both his own writing and those written for him by pop authors-playwrights.
In 1997 he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of Russia.
Jan Arlazorov passed away at the age of 61 in March 2009.
