Ukrainian actor Vyacheslav Gomolyaka was born on July 4, 1898 in Kiev. His acting path began at the Kiev Theater College, however, he graduated only 2 courses. Since 1927, Vyacheslav began his work in an experimental film workshop at the Society of Friends of Soviet Cinema (ODSSK) in the Kiev branch. Moreover, he manifests himself both as an actor and as a director.

The actor began acting in films in 1929. The first film with Vyacheslav Gomolyaka - Old and New. He also starred in the films: Do not hold your movements, Black leather, Man without a case, Ivan, Roman Mizhgirya, Happy finish, Fighters, Shumi town. In total, the actor has about 20 roles in his filmography. However, all these films are from the 10th anniversary period from 1929 to 1939. After 1939, Homolyaka stopped acting in films.

You can also separately note the film-play Zaporozhets beyond the Danube, where Homolyaka played one of the main roles. The painting was released in 1937. This musical film was based on the opera of the same name by S. S. Gulak-Artemovsky. He tells about the events of the 18th century, when, after the abolition of the Zaporozhye Sich, part of the Cossacks went beyond the Danube in search of new free lands, but ended up with the hostile Turks. The film is very entertaining and deep, despite the fact that it was also shot on black-and-white film, as, indeed, all films with Gomolyaka.

The last film with Vyacheslav Gomolyaka - Shchors, was released in 1939. The actor appears only in a small episode.

For the next decade, Homolyaka worked as a production director at the Kiev studio of popular science films. This case captivated the former actor so much that he devoted almost the entire rest of his life to him.
