Born November 2, 1970 in Feldkirch, Austria.
He worked as a neurosurgeon in Berlin. In 1993-1994 he was trained as an assistant cameraman. From 1997 to 2001 he studied film art at the Cologne University of the Media.
Became famous for his films White Noise (2001) and Educators (2004). The film Educators was released in more than 50 countries and was watched by about 1.5 million viewers.
Weingartner's films are low-budget and are being produced by a small production team.
