Choi was born in Washington DC and studied martial arts from an early age. He won several high school art competitions, which led him to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design to expand his skills. After his graduation and a successful graduation project, Choi worked for post-production for Stokes Group and later Postasylum. In addition to his career in the visual effects department, he has created homevideos and short films with his friends and continued to pursue martial arts. Since 2003, Choi has resided in Los Angeles.
