Christoph Bantser was born in 1936 in Marburg into a family of artists, as Karl Bantser's father and grandfather were artists. His younger brother Klaus Bantzer is a musician and composer.
Buntser studied acting at school in Berlin.
His focus is on theatrical performance, he has played in many important German stages.
In addition to his theatrical battles, Bantzer has collaborated on many films, mostly television production. As an announcer, he can be heard on a series of audio books and even in syncs.
Christoph Buntser is married to soprano Dorothea Roschmann.
