Born April 6, 1953, Berkenshaw, South Lanarkshire, Scotland - Scottish musician and film soundtrack composer. His collaborations with Kenneth Branagh and the Shakespearean community are well known, but his talent for composing music is universal and he has written orchestral music for many films of various genres, including Disney's Shipwrecked, the gangster drama Carlito's Way, and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. In the second half of the 1990s, he used synthesizers in combination with choir, solo vocalists and traditional orchestra.
