Was born on July 1, 1974 in Sevastopol. In 1991 he graduated from secondary school, music school in the guitar class, quit sports, reaching the title of candidate for master of sports in judo, and did not enter medical school. In 1992, Igor Voloshin got a job as a cashier at the city youth drama theater ("Theater on Bolshaya Morskaya") under the direction of V.A. Orshansky. Two months later he was enrolled in the theater troupe as an actor, and entered the branch of the Yaroslavl Theater Institute in the city of Sevastopol. In 1993-94 he was the leader of the punk band Delikatesy, in 1996-98 he was the leader of the psychedelic jazz orchestra Delikatesy. In 1996 he graduated from the Yaroslavl Theater Institute with a degree in theater and cinema. Until 1998 he worked as an actor, playwright and director of his own plays and performances in a closed laboratory at the theater. In 1998 he entered VGIK (faculty of additional professional education) in the drama workshop of V.K. Chernyha and L.A. Black. In 1999 he went to study at the studio of directing an author's film. After graduating from VGIK in 2000 as a film director, he worked closely with the Sverdlovsk Film Studio, where he directed short films: the documentary "Bitch" (2001) and the fiction film "Hunt for Hares" (2003). In 2004, Igor Voloshin and his films were awarded the Triumph Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of literature and art. In 2005, at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam, the world premiere of the film Lips (2005) took place, in the same year the director received a grant to write a screenplay (in collaboration with Alexei Shipenko) from the Hubert Balls Found at the Rotterdam Film Festival.
