Georgy Shengelaya - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
Born May 11, 1937 in Moscow, in the family of film director Nikolai Shengelaya and actress Nato Vachnadze.
In 1961 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK, workshop of A. Dovzhenko and M. Chiureli, defended his diploma in 1963.
Since 1961 he has been a director of the Georgia-Film studio. Leads a director's workshop at the Tbilisi Institute of Theater and Cinema named after Sh. Rustaveli.
People's Artist of the Georgian SSR (1985).
