The first surname is Sprink.
Graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1960) - acting workshop of V. Belokurov.
She was an actress at the Russian Drama Theater. A.S. Griboyedov in Tbilisi, since 1960 - actress of the film studio "Georgia-Film", since 1980 - actress of the film studio. M. Gorky.
Ariadna Vsevolodovna made her film debut in 1957 as Irina in the feature film Ekaterina Voronina. While still studying at the Institute of Cinematography, Shengelaya starred in two films: in Eugene Onegin (Tatyana Larina) and in Eugenia Grande (Eugene). In the late 1950s - early 1960s, she was one of the most popular actresses in Soviet cinema. The audience remembered her delicate aristocratic beauty and the ancient Greek name - Ariadne. Of course, the oriental beauty of the actress attracted the attention of directors. At first, she was offered the role of young girls who entered an independent life, who know how to take responsibility for their actions and mistakes, who have a strong will, who know how to achieve their goals, realizing that not all means for this are good. Then, like beads on a string, interesting works began to be strung with such directors as Ivan Pyriev ("White Nights") Georgy Danelia ("Don't Cry!"), Nadezhda Kosheverova ("Caution, Grandma!"), Felix Mironer ("Leaving ”), Isidor Annensky (“ Talents and Admirers ”,“ Ekaterina Voronina ”), Abram Room (“ Garnet Bracelet ”), Naum Trakhtenberg (“ Shot ”), Eldar Shengelaya (“ Freaks ”) and many others.
The theatrical scene did not remain alien to her, where she played the role of Cleopatra in Bernard Shaw's play "Caesar and Cleopatra" and the role of Anne Frank in the play "Anne Frank's Diary" by E. Goodrich and A. Heckett.
