Meliki has a German mother and an Iranian father and a sister to social scientist Naika Foroutan. She studied philosophy, English language and history from 1995 to 1998 at the University of Cologne and completed the period from 1999 to 2003 at the University of the Arts Berlin. In the 2003/2004 season she studied at the Schauspielhaus Leipzig.
Lives in Berlin.
