Born November 6, 1978 in Tucson (Arizona, USA), the son of Bill and Sharyn Manning, there is an older brother Kelin Manning, with whom Therin has a joint group Boomkat. The Mannings divorced in 1981, and when Taryn was 14, her father, Bill, committed suicide.
She began her career as an actress in the early 1990s.
In 2002, Manning sang the song "I'll Take You There" with R&B performer Tweet for an advertisement for the American firm Gap. In 2003 Therin, together with her brother Kelin, created the electronic group "Boomkat". Their debut album, Boomkatalog.One, was released on March 18, 2003.
