Was born in 1866. Graduated from the Higher Moscow Imperial Technical School. Since 1892 - director and actor of a number of theaters, in 1899-1917. - Director and actor of the drama theater in Ivanovo-Voznesensk, in 1917-1921. - People's House in Tiflis. In 1921-1928. - Director of the State Committee for Industry of Georgia, since 1928 - film studios: "Sovkino", "Mezhrabpomfilm", "Uzbekkino", "Turkmenfilm". He took part in the formation of the Turkmen and Uzbek cinematography. He acted in films, wrote scripts for a number of his films, articles on theater issues. He died on January 24, 1936. Buried at the Donskoy cemetery.
