The actor was born in the city of Termez, the Republic of Uzbekistan, on January 8, 1950. In 1957 he went to first grade. Due to the fact that Oleg's father was a serviceman, the family often had to move, and the child had to change school. After finishing the tenth grade, Vavilov entered GITIS. There, under the guidance of Vasily Alexandrovich Orlov and Marina Nikolaevna Orlova, Oleg learned the basics of acting. As a graduate robot, Vavilov played in plays based on the works of Nikolai Gogol, Luigi Pirandello, Alexander Korneichuk. After graduating from university, in 1971, the actor was invited to the Kazan BTC named after Kachalov.
