Born September 26, 1934 in Moscow. Graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School (1956). Since 1959 - actor of the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after G.A. Tovstonogov.
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1969). People's Artist of the RSFSR (1977). People's Artist of the USSR (11/30/1984) .
Honorary Citizen of Saint Petersburg (2012).
