Born June 5, 1974 in Leningrad.
In 1975 he emigrated with his parents to France and in 1997 he came to Moscow, where he entered the camera department at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. After several successful short films, Danya Gurevich, as a director of photography, makes his debut with the film director Pyotr Buslov with the film Boomer. Even during the editing of Boomer, actor and director Sergei Bodrov (junior) invites Danya Gurevich to shoot his new film under the tentative title The Messenger.
Presumably on September 20, 2002, on the second day of filming in the Karmadon Gorge (North Ossetia), as a result of the descent of the glacier, Danya Gurevich and almost the entire film crew went missing. The film "Boomer" was the first and last work of Dani Gurevich in big cinema, but in this only film he managed to prove himself as a talented operator, an expert in the genre of noir and cinema in general.
