Mamie Gummer was born on August 3, 1983 into the family of actress Meryl Streep and sculptor Don Gummer. She grew up in Los Angeles, California and Connecticut with her older brother Henry and sisters Grace and Louise.
In movies, she appeared in small roles in The Evening (2007) and The Devil Wears Prada, but ultimately her scenes were cut from the film. In 2012, she landed the lead role in the television series Dr. Emily Owens.
