Graduated from courses at the St. Petersburg Imperial Theater School (1914) .
From 1914 - an actress of the Alexandrinsky Theater, from 1917 - of the Nezlobin Theater, from 1918 - in the Theater Studio under the direction of V.E. Meyerhold, and also - an actress of the theaters of Petrozavodsk and Kostroma. Since 1921 - an actress and director of the Leningrad Academic Drama Theater named after A. Pushkin (in 1946-1950, in parallel - the artistic director of the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after M. Gorky).
