Born on July 17, 1940 in Magadan.
Father, Sergei Nikiforovich Igishev, worked as an engineer at Dalstroy, mother, Alexandra Nikolaevna Igisheva, director of a school in Magadan.
After graduating from school, he left for Moscow for his dream - to enter the VGIK at the acting department, but did not pass the competition. For a year he worked as an illuminator at the Moscow Drama and Comedy Theater.
In 1964 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK (workshop of M. Romm). He did an internship with Grigory Kozintsev on the set of the film "King Lear" .
In 1972-1973 he worked at the Belarusfilm studio, since 1974 - the director of the Odessa film studio. Filmed documentaries.
Participant in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster - made a documentary about the Chernobyl disaster.
The author of a series of documentaries "Odessa pavilions" - interviews with famous people of Odessa.
He passed away on May 6, 2011.
